MORATORIUM – Canada Wildfires
Effective May 30, 2023, Great American's Property & Inland Marine is under a moratorium for the Canadian wildfires. We have suspended binding for all new business and changes to existing policies for locations within 50 kilometers of active wildfires in the province(s) of Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia. The following restrictions apply until further notice:
1. Coverage may not be bound for any new Builder's Risk policies for locations within 50 kilometers of active wildfires in the province(s) of Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
2. No changes may be made to existing in-force policies to add new locations/increase limits/add new coverages for locations within 50 kilometers of active wildfires in the province(s) of Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
3. Any exceptions to this should be referred to your underwriter.
We will honor all outstanding extensions as quoted, but any new business will not be bound in the impacted province(s) until this moratorium ends. Please contact your underwriter with any questions. For additional information on current active wildfires, please reference
